Melissa has always been a performer. As a child she often played 'Radio DJ' at home with records, and 'News Anchor' by reading aloud from magazines from her 'news desk'. Performing in school plays, taking dance classes and acting out musicals were favorite activities. In high school, she was chosen to do the morning announcements and, of course, loved it. She's been talking into a microphone ever since.

At Oakland University earning her BA, Melissa interviewed Detroit radio legend Dick Purtan for an assignment on 'Your Dream Job'.  Soon after, she got the experience of a lifetime interning for Mr. Purtan on his top rated morning show.  Learning the behind the scenes of a show she listened to daily was a thrill, and furthered her desire to work in radio.

During this time, Melissa volunteered for Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic - a service that offered recordings of required reading. Sitting in a small booth with a reel to reel recorder and a microphone reading textbooks was fulfilling.  Not long after she got a job at a small radio station in Walled Lake, Michigan.

At WPON Melissa had the opportunity to do everything, quite literally. Being on air as DJ and news reporter, running the board for the many eclectic shows on the schedule, producing commercials, doing the billing and designing the website. One of the biggest highlights came when she had the opportunity to meet and work with Davy Jones of the Monkees, helping him record a voice over audition for a Peter Sellers Documentary.  As a life long fan of Davy and the group, it was a dream fulfilled. Around this time, Melissa also joined a local band as singer and keyboard player, fulfilling another childhood dream.

Melissa works as an actor
in commercials, industrials and film, as a print model, and continues voice over work. Her home recording studio has opened up opportunities worldwide; working for clients in the UK, Dominican Republic and South Africa.

In her free time, Melissa is a dancer, volunteer crisis counselor for Crisis Text Line, and a standardized patient for a local medical school.
